Must read for any designer with a set of balls.

This book is a great read for any designer with the balls to be brash and take chances. The story of Snask's early days. Passionately going after what they want and pushing their way in by staying humble and showing they have the balls to do it. It's just inspiring and hilarious....so just buy it!

It’s deliciously snasky!

I don’t usually do things like this but when you come across a book so profoundly down-to-earth, funny and inspiring, you can’t help but tell people about it. Today, that is you. So take 5 minutes out of your day, go grab a coffee, and get comfy’n’stuff.
Written by Stockholm based design agency SNASK, Make Enemies & Gain Fans is a collection of the struggles during the “Dog Years”, inspirational tips’n’advice and hilarious anecdotes, all packed together in a deceivingly innocent pink and gold book.
This book is not for the faint-hearted. There is no room for “good” work or any form of mediocrity in the minds of Fredrik Öst and Magnus Berg. Either go hard or go home! Design students and professionals alike need to take notice to the words in this book. Be bold, be vibrant and be ballsy (Not necessarily in that order). People are more likely to notice you. Then again, Magnus is constantly referred to as “Pussy” throughout the book so you might be fine.
SNASK are here to show the world that there is no one-way of doing business. These are the guys who have gone to talks with a rock band, have held and DJ’d their own club nights and dressed up as Steve Irwin to deliver a pitch. Some things have worked, and others, not so much. But what matters is that they have done everything completely different, in true hipster fashion.
A very easy, addictive read for any “creative” who wants to make enemies, gain fans and have fun while doing it. Get the book. You will not regret it. It’s deliciously snasky!

Great Cover, Good Book

Be clear- this book gets a five-star review for the same reason I purchased it- its amazing cover. Snask is a well-regarded design and branding firm based in Stockholm, Sweden; their signature gold/pinking and bold thinking have served them well in the past and are in full effect here. The striking design and title have attracted interest from others each time I've read it in coffee shops, which was twice, and a target-rich environment for design-minded creatives to be sure, but still an impressive response rate.
The title isn't prefaced with a "How to..." for a reason. It's a declarative statement, not the name of a step-by-step manual. You won't learn how to set type or do business the Snask way. If anything, my takeaway was that the Snask way is just that -theirs- and that creatives should, you know, create their own way in the world.
The book is a short, funny, breezy read written over a long weekend by the firm's founders (accompanied by a student-written case study giving an outsiders' perspective on the studio). It's not particularly challenging thematically, either. I imagine the target reader won't glean much new information from ME&GF, but will surely be inspired by Freddie & Magnus and the work they present throughout the tome to go out and create without overthinking it.
