Maureen Warner-Lewis is Professor Emerita, Department of Literature and English, specializing in African-Caribbean languages and oratory at the University of the West Indies, Jamaica. In this meticulously researched book she has produced a marvelous study thoroughly documenting the pervasive Central African cultural influences throughout the Caribbean. Her book is both comprehensive and a joy to read. Highly recommended for all Africanists.
