Study Guide for the NEC

Originally I bought one of the "cheaper" study guides for my Electrical License Exam. The old saying,"you get what you pay for", definitely applies here. While other study guides offer multiple questions from the NEC they are the "seek and find" type. In other words, copy a segment from the NEC, remove a word or two and then find that segment in the code and replace the word(s) removed. While this method is good for familiarizing ones self with the actual book it does not do much for passing the Licensing Exam, where you will be required to think about all the answers and often use two or more sections of the code to come up with the final answer. This is where Stallcup's Electrical Design really shines. Stallcup's goes through the step by step process of solving the questions, not just finding answers in the code book. While the cheaper guide helped me learn the code book, Stallcup's helped me earn my electrical license, definitely a wise investment.
